We would like to kindly inform you that the last installment of the “Last Days of Mankind” with the participation of Teatr A Part will take place on October 3, 4 and 5, 2019 at 8 pm at Theaterlabor im Tor 6 in Bielefeld in Germany.
“The Last Days of Mankind” is an international theater project based on the anti-war satirical drama of Austrian writer Karl Kraus, documenting the horror and absurdities of World War I.
The performance, directed jointly by Yuri Birte Anderson and Siegmar Schroeder, will be attended by artists from six countries: Theaterlabor Bilelefeld from Germany, the Scottish Leith Theater, the Serbian theater Plavo Pozoriste, the Media Culture Association from Ukraine, the Association Arsène from France and Teatr A Part.
German presentations of “The Last Days of Mankind” is the third edition of the performance. The first, directed by Yuri Birte Anderson and John Paul McGroarty, in cooperation with Marcin Herich and Siegmar Schroeder took place in November last year at the Leith Theatre in Edinburgh on the hundredth anniversary of the end of World War I. The second edition, jointly directed by Marcin Herich, Yuri Birte Anderson and Siegmar Schroeder, took place on June this year during the 25th International Performing Arts Festival A Part. The British band The Tiger Lillies performed live in the first two installments of the performance, which composed the music for the performance. In the third installment of the performance, the compositions and improvisations of local jazz musicians are serve as the soundtrack.
“Last Days of Mankind” is part of the “Cafe Europa” project, implemented by Theaterlabor Bielefeld in cooperation with the Leith Theatre in Edinburgh, the Association Arsène from France and Teatr A Part with the support of the European Commission under the Creative Europe program.
The show is intended for adult viewers.
